Buying a home this winter? Here are our top tips for purchasing a home during the winter months:
🤝 𝐻𝑖𝑟𝑒 𝑎 𝐺𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝐴𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑡
You need an agent who is available full-time to support you through the buying and selling process. Fewer homes tend to be listed this time of year, so it’s important to work with an agent who is experienced and well-connected in the area.
🔎 𝐴𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑎 ℎ𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛
It’s easy to focus in the interior of a great-looking home, but a home inspection is always the way to go. A good home inspector will check all the key areas of a home to help you get a better picture of what you may be stepping into. If you need recommendations, I know some excellent home inspectors that I’d be happy to refer you to.

Demand is typically lower in the winter months, meaning that buyers often have leverage than during the rest of the year. Work with your agent to understand the sellers motivations and negotiate from there.
❄️ 𝑊𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑧𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛
If you’re going to write an offer, talk to your agent about making sure that all exterior pipes, swimming pools, irrigation, etc. have been properly winterized to avoid unexpected repairs this spring.
